Read Across America Family Night

March 3, 2022

NPE’s 2022 Read Across America celebration consisted of an in-person book and treat pickup, followed by virtual readers. There were nearly 400 participants!

Read Across America is the nation’s largest celebration of reading. NEA encourages everyone to pick up a book and read with a child during Read Across America week. To celebrate, NPE holds an annual family event!

Thanks to Donna Clarke, Kelly Smith, and Stephanie King for all their work! The RAA celebration is always a highlight of the school year, and their creativity and organization were the key to getting this event off the ground in this uncertain year. BRAVO! Plus, thanks to all the parents who helped behind the scenes, donated books, and volunteered their time to assemble treats and sort the books. You are part of what makes NPE a Great Place to Be!

2021-2022 Fundraisers

  • Delaware County Camp and Activities Fair

Held in late winter, this annual event connects families with area camps and activities. In 2022, it was held virtually.

  • Delco Turkey Trot

NPE PTO’s biggest fundraiser draws hundreds of runners to hit the streets in Nether Providence on Thanksgiving Morning!

Movie Night

After a rainout on Saturday, we held a rescheduled movie night on Sunday night, 10/17. We had a great turnout— It was the first real fall-weather evening, and everything was perfect! We showed Hotel Transylvania, a fave of kids and adults. Premiere Outdoor Movies made it easy!

Big thanks to the volunteers that made this happen. In no particular order: Michelle Slaven, Bill Slaven, Jen Garfal, Tommy Fischer, Kay Skinner, Caitlin Shump, Julie Abrams, Nancy Shuster, Michele Mohr, Erica Renner, Julie Larson, Bridget Guarino, Victor Guarino, Janine Martin, Lauri Abate, and Nicki Moise. Extra thanks to Madeleine Evans, Janine Martin, Caitlin Shump, Heidi Velhagen, Jennifer O’Berg, Lauri Abate, and Susan Sherr-Pollard for donations.

BIGGEST THANKS of all to Mr. Bob!

PTO-Sponsored Family Swim, 7/20/2021

NPE PTO sponsored a family swim night at Creekside Pool after a pretty rough year, to bring our community together. Lots of laughs, water ice, and pretzels. Special guest: Speedy the Dolphin!!
